With Martha Pond…
There is no one who does not want to recover.
There are many who believe for them it is not possible.
Martha has worked extensively with a wide range of individuals from every socio-economic level. Addiction is non discriminating and although people’s circumstances differ, the disease steals the most essential and universal of human qualities - the need to access true self, capacity to correctly perceive personal circumstances, thus damaging effective problem solving skills and preventing one from meeting his/her/their highest needs.
Through providing profound and truthful validation, clients rapidly shift from problem action to solution (change) action. People’s solutions are impressively and vastly found within themselves. Martha provides safety and reflects clarity while facilitating self-awareness and assertive action which motivates emotion and compels further change. Martha works with clients aging from 15 – elderly and families.

What People Are Saying
“I was referred to Martha from a very dear friend because of anxiety issues I was experiencing from a traumatic event. Martha was kind, patient and loving, guiding me through my pain and making me aware of my worth. She obviously used her extensive knowledge and expertise to teach me relaxation methods and more self awareness. The journey she brought me on was transformational for me. I refer her without reservation.”
— Pat, Auburn
“I met Martha when I was broken, addicted, and felt I had hit my rock bottom. Martha helped me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I thought my life was over, giving up my favorite substance, but when she told me it was only just the beginning, she was right. She gave me hope and helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. Without her support and encouragement I would not be where I today— sober for almost 2 years! I continue to see Martha for her support and her wisdom, she is amazing.”
— Lindsay, Worcester
Through my sessions with Martha I have learned not only to trust my self but get down to the causes and conditions on why it was so difficult for me to do so in the past. I have been seeing Martha for over a year now. Every visit is different and I truly appreciate the different techniques she uses that allows me to cope with my emotions in ways that I have never done before. I am also a woman in recovery from substance abuse. I have never maintained any type of sobriety except for these last two and a half years. I truly believe that a big part of my continued sobriety has to do with my sessions. Martha is very knowledgeable in the program I work for my recovery and has been able to guide me and also cheer me on throughout every milestone.

I was introduced to Martha in 2017 when I was in search of recovery help for a member of my family. I’m not surprised that I connected instantly with her inherent, gentle energy and began using her counseling services for myself. She is extremely knowledgeable in 12-step recovery programs and provides me with a safe, judgement-free environment to express myself and the situations I confront along my journey. Martha embodies the elements of compassion and she recognizes and understands the vulnerable, human conditions we encounter in our lives, which helps put my own situations into a larger perspective. She carries with her a kind, open heart, and offers mindful suggestions that serve as solutions and life-long learning tools. I am excited to be working with Martha and taking a healthy and mindful approach to my life.

Martha’s caring and constructive guidance through early sobriety and the beginnings of a spiritual existence were instrumental in my recovery. As I worked through my “searching and fearless moral inventory” I encountered feelings and emotions that I seemed to be wired to avoid. Learning to live with these things was the key to the emotional sobriety I have today. I couldn’t be more grateful to her for all she has done for me.

Working with Martha belped me to open up and examine to examine thoughts and processes and to change negative patterns in my life.
It was life changing.
